I often install + paint trim, leaving you with a finished product to enjoy. My paint suggestion for trim is Benjamin Moore Regal in Satin finish. This paint dries to a tough and durable finish and will stand up well to the vacuum cleaner, kiddie toys and...life! I've used it in my own home and been very impressed with the long-lasting durability.

Painting + Details

There are a few common trim styles I most often install: contemporary, flatstock, colonial, step and modern or farmhouse style. You'll see these in the galleries below. I often work with MDF (medium density fibreboard) instead of wood in newer homes, for several reasons: its pine alternative bleeds knots through paint despite many of my best efforts; MDF is easier to work with; and MDF is more economical to purchase. Poplar is another solid wood option, although it comes at a higher price point. For century homes, I generally only install wood trim that is true to the original character of the home. Some profiles are only available in a specific material. We can talk about which material and what size/scale would best suit your needs.

Trim Styles

Updating your trim elevates your home. Whether your style is classic or modern, beautiful trim is like a cherry on top and a wonderful way to add value to your property. Neat and tidy trim work is such a beautiful refresher.
